UDC 339.372.6 Automatic Calculation of the Planogram of Goods on the Basis of the Principle of Block Display A.V. Bal', South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk, Russian Federation, balalexv@gmail.com S.L. Egorov, South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk, Russian Federation, egorovsl@susu.ac.ru Abstract One way to improve sales and profits of retail chains is a display of goods on the basis of certain principles, worked out in the theory and practice of merchandising that are used to create the so-called planograms. Planogram layout can be created either manually or, if it is possible automatically on the basis of developed algorithms allowing to realize the described principles. In addition, qualitatively designed planogram allows to calculate the correct values of the minimum balance of goods, which would have a positive impact on inventory turnover and, as a result, on the company's profits. One and the most commonly used in practice principle is the location of goods within a certain block or block display. This article provides an algorithm and a mathematical model, allowing to calculate these types of planograms automatically. The program has been developed and successfully implemented in one of the retail chains. Keywords merchandising, planogram, automation References 1. Kanayan R., Kanayan K.
