UDC 339.372.6 Dynamic Selection of Items for Physical Inventory A.V. Bal', South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk, Russian Federation, balalexv@gmail.com Abstract In order to make the replenishment of goods more effective retailers should monitor conformity of information system data on items residue with its physical availability. The method used to achieve this conformity in the first place is physical inventory, or a manual recount of the goods. Depending on assortment coverage physical inventories are divided into complete or global (recount of the whole range) and local (recount of specific goods) Due to the fact that the realization of the global inventory involves quite high costs the companies commonly try to reduce their quantity and use local ones for current data actualization. There are several algorithms of products selection for local inventory, however, they tend to have very low efficiency (percent of detected deviations). This article provides an algorithm for selecting items for the local inventory based on a comparison of data on the product with analogous products, stores or previous history of sales, what can significantly increase the rate of detection of abnormalities.
